At that point I imagine applications will skyrocket, because mental health care in Canada is basically non existent.
Until then, you can apply if you’re terminally ill, chronically suffering, or just poor. In fact poor people suffering from disability are often pushed into applying.
Currently, someone can request MAID if their death is “reasonably foreseeable” under what’s known as Track 1, or if they suffer from a “grievous and irremediable condition,” Track 2.

Allowing assisted euthanasia? Sure. Pushing people towards it? How is this not considered outright murder? Or attempted murder?
