That’s the idea. The sci Fi stories usually deal with the og not being destroyed and the ethics of a system like this
Soma doesn’t have teleportation per se, but it does depicts transferring one’s consciousness and depicting the horror of knowing you saved a copy of yourself, but your “you” is now alone in the dark.
that’s how all scifi teleportation works as far as i’m concerned
