China has been heavily building out renewables while the US hasn’t. Add in all the extra energy demand from AI and data centers in the US, you get rocketing energy costs and increasing emissions.
Weird, it’s like the right time to shift subsidies away from oil and coal and towards renewal and nuclear was 30 years ago, not 4 years from now.
For those not reading the article, interestingly Europe also swapped with India. Too soon to make any conclusions I guess.
