My favourite rhythm game of all time. Can’t play it with emulators because the input is extremely precise and sensitive to audio/input/display lag.
Kick, punch, it’s all in your mind
If you wanna test me, if sure you’ll find.
the things i’ll teach ya, are sure to beat ya
Nevertheless learn a lesson from teacha now KICK PUNCH
When I say boom boom boom, you say bam bam bam! No pause in between, come on, let’s jam!
Crack crack crack the egg into the bowl!
Can’t play it with emulators? Input on most emulators should be completely lag-free.
I don’t recall having any issues when I did a brief session just to show the game to someone that never heard of it.
One thing that comes to mind is a time when I couldn’t get stepmania playable at a friends place but it turned out the sound was going from gpu hdmi to tv to sound bar via bluetooth and switching to pc 3.5mm jack to sound bar directly brought the audio latency down to less than the TVs visual latency and it had to be adjusted the other way.
I might have used the wrong emulator or maybe the lag is with my wireless controller. Will try DuckStation with my wired controller. I don’t have any wired headset so I might have to just play it on speakers.
Finally, hopefully my body and brain doesn’t lag too much.

This is 100% your issue, rhythm games are unplayable with wireless audio.
Ok
I always have issues with games like Celeste that require pixel-perfect coordination on a wireless controller. I do think they come with a little bit of lag baked in.
I’m sure this game gave me my sense of rythm. Anyone else try the sequel, Umjammer Lammy? That game was ridiculously hard.
I wasn’t any good but I played a lot of PaRappa and Bust a Groove back in the day.
