Is it the same people complaining about every game in the genre? I feel like there might be a core of people who don’t like this kind of game, but aren’t content to just do something else.
Which, as someone who falls into that trap shit talking DND 5th edition I guess I get it.
I blame the streamer culture and the fear of missing out bullshit.
In normal times if a game is not your jam you don’t even try to play it. Nowadays if a game is hyped you NEED to play it.
This sounds plausible. It’s also utterly alien to me, an old man who yells at clouds who has never intentionally watched a streamer.
Ok, but I think the “enemies deal too much damage” complaint is a fair one here. In the first game double damage was rare and special, but in this one they just handed it out to basically everything. Kinda makes the first mask upgrade feel kinda pointless since going from 5 masks to 6 still leaves you dying in three hits to every boss.
For me it’s the parkour with the diagonal down attack plus environment dealing double damage too for some reason. Thank god after a while you can change the down attack.
I had some issues with the diagonal parkour as well but it was mostly because I was trying out the controller. I noticed that a lot of the time you need to hold down to dash diagonally and then continue holding left/right after dashing. But on keyboard I can just hold down + right at once and press the dash key when I’m in the correct position, much simpler. After that it became almost natural.
What are the odds it also ends with the necrophilia gay incest plotline
Hornet does Arlington.
i wasn’t a big fan of SOTE
loved the story and lore but the gameplay was pretty poop
I really enjoyed SOTE but I’m just not a fan of how they did progression. Just finding items that increase your damage and defense was kind of boring compared to the main game where you made complex builds. It also made replaying the DLC kind of a nightmare because you have to run around collecting fragments before doing anything else.
But exploration was fun and so were the bosses IMO :)
some of the bosses were pretty dogshit though.
that guy on his boar, and the final boss were both awful
FWIW they did nerf the final DLC boss heavily over a month after release, he’s now fair and you can dodge his previously undodgeable attacks.
Boar guy is ass, I’m with you on that one. Luckily he’s totally optional at least.
gaius is basically a deflecting hardtear showcase. absolutely piss easy if you just play him like a sekiro boss.
i played all of sote in first person so i might be a bit biased
was mostly fun tho
I am really bad at this game and never played a metroidvania before at all, I have died like 30 times to lace but managed to beat her. Everytime I need to buy something more expensive than a map (50 beads) I find my self farming the in the scummiest ways possible because I can never save up the beads for it from dying too much, every single boss fight with the exception of the first 2 have been extremely frustrating to me, I somehow really struggle to use the diagonal attacks at all in part because I am can’t even get consistent at them (i miss about 10% of time) despite knowing exactly how to, the pogo sections on those pumpkin things are an absolute nightmare I spent 1.5+ hours to get from extremely bad at it to just very bad at these pogo sections
I feel the same way about everything, and I aced Lace. It’s not about difficulty, it’s about being frustrating.
Still enjoy the game though.
Recently saw pretty much the same meme, same premise mostly, but with DS2. History is bound to repeat itself and gamers are notoriously shchupid and whiny
