I had rented a house for over two years almost next door. The sunsets have been amazing, especially in winter when the cane fires are on. I had bought a different block about half a k back with no views. Then the lady decided to not build on this block and offered it to me. I had trouble getting finance due to my age, so when it got approved I was extremely happy.

I’m reminded of the Crowded House song “Caravan in the Hills”.

Good luck with your new property.

Are there any covenants on the height of the building?

I don’t think height is an issue. So yeah I would like to build up a bit.

I know the people right on the water which of course is a nice place to be. However the perspective from up higher is superior I do believe.

And thanks and also, not quite a caravan but certainly no palace.

When we built on the side of a hill, we had a low profile roof on our two story, so as not to spoil anyone else’s view.

Then our neighbours downhill built a single storey with a ridiculously obtuse roof that blocked our view! Mongrels!

A friend of mine built on a hill decades ago in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast. QLD. The neighbours behind put in a complaint about their tin roof as it was shiny. He then found out that when those people had built their house the people behind them had complained about exactly the same thing. People can be shit heads.

I live with a great view to the west. Watching sunsets and the sky change colour is one of lifes little pleasures. It can turn something as mundane as taking out the garbage into an experiance as you stop to take it in.

Very happy for you. Some friends think I’m in a bad spot due to the afternoon heat.

I explain that I’m far more likely to see the sun set than the sun rise. Lol.

I completely misread it as if you got approved to sell your property to the show The Block, but that’s a damn nice view

There are houses across the road that have access to the water. A couple of them have jetties. There’s a little park kinda thing too where you can launch a kayak amongst the mangroves.
