Guy, i asked and you answered something that wasn’t what I asked. Bravery is not doing your duty. Bravery is having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty. Snape did exactly that.
There was no goalpost shift, you just didn’t answer the question I asked.
The difference between bravery and stupidity is if you are either doing it for yourself or doing it for others, snape had too much “self” in his actions.
There are tons of brave people who are fighting for themselves. Rape survivors for example. Bravery doesn’t have to be selfless.

Hagrid risked being chased by death eaters (who were known for insane brutality) with low magic skills (because he got expelled in his 3rd year and wasn’t allowed to practice magic since then).
It was shortly after the incident, so neither was Voldemorts defeat fully confirmed, nor did he know, how the death eaters would react to their leader being almost killed. He still took the risk
