Hagrid didn’t lead a double life where one misstep could get him avadakadavra’ed or worse expelled.

Who is braver, the coward who risks everything or the valiant man doing what he always does? That’s why Harry called him the bravest.

The braver person never wavered, always did what was right even in the face of consequences.

That doesn’t make them more brave. That just makes them more dutiful.

You asked, I answered and the goal posts shifted again.

              We are done here.

Guy, i asked and you answered something that wasn’t what I asked. Bravery is not doing your duty. Bravery is having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty. Snape did exactly that.

There was no goalpost shift, you just didn’t answer the question I asked.

The difference between bravery and stupidity is if you are either doing it for yourself or doing it for others, snape had too much “self” in his actions.

There are tons of brave people who are fighting for themselves. Rape survivors for example. Bravery doesn’t have to be selfless.

“Risked his life saving baby Harry”? When did that happen. Last time I looked he just fetched baby Harry out of the empty ruins of the Potter house. Or you mean risking that a brink lands in his head, doing nothing to Hagrids half-giant head?

Hagrid beat though. Better than the weirdo Snape, who was only bothered about people being murdered, when they got to the girl he got friendzoned by.

Hagrid risked being chased by death eaters (who were known for insane brutality) with low magic skills (because he got expelled in his 3rd year and wasn’t allowed to practice magic since then).

It was shortly after the incident, so neither was Voldemorts defeat fully confirmed, nor did he know, how the death eaters would react to their leader being almost killed. He still took the risk
