Don’t follow any of em, but if I did, anyone kissing up to Charlie Kirk ought to know:
I can’t stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that — it does a lot of damage.
– Charlie Kirk
What?
I guess anyone who tried to whitewash what a giant enflamed cockhole Charlie Kirk was before he practiced what he preached and got shot.
Anyone who immediately started sucking the cock of that corpse.
He was a piece of shit for literally his entire adult life. He was a bigot. He was a racist. He was all for patriarchy. He was against women’s rights. The man was a cunt. And he was proud of it. He said shootings were great because muh freedom. He joked about feeding brown people to alligators.
He was a hateful poisonous asshole all of his life. And he got the karma he earned.
He used political speech to glorify and encourage political violence. And he got shot.
Sow the wind. Reap the whirlwind.
Edit - When I inevitability die. No matter how that happens. Nobody anywhere will have a any reason to cheer. I live my life in such a way not to be fondly remembered. But also not to be so hated that my end is celebrated. It isn’t hard to do. Just be a decent person. That doesn’t mean good. That doesn’t even mean lawful. That means just be a decent person. Treat people fair. Respect people as people. Could be tattooed from scalp to toenails. Could have swapped genders 5 times. Could be in some weird poly marriage where there’s 8 of em. Doesn’t matter. They’re all still just folk. Their blood will work in the body of a ““normal person”” and so will their organs. There isn’t enough difference between any of us anywhere to make any difference. We’re all just folk. Of all kinds. All shapes and colors and proclivities. We’re all just folk. And that dead asshole made a career out of driving a wedge between these folk and those folk. And that’s why his end is celebrated.
Are you talking about Kirk or some having the inability to identify what is going in Gaza as a genocide? I care a lot more about the latter.
Friendly reminder this isn’t a US-centric sub. Even then, I am in the US and it’s still too vague for me to understand what you’re asking.
By “given recent events” do you mean which leftist commentator did I not like their reaction to Kirk’s killing?
Yes
The three leftist commentators that I watched over the past day were Hasan Piker, Krystal Ball (with her conservative cohost Saager), and Kyle Kulinski. All of them humanized Kirk, and reminded the audience he has children, and acknowledged that they are in the same business as Kirk, while they are on the other side, and have very strong disagreements with his positions.
I don’t dislike any of their reactions, but I was frustrated with Kyle today because he spent a long time discussing current conspiracy theories, and then discussed inflammatory right wing reactions. There’s not complete information available yet because the suspect hasn’t been caught, and it just happened. It felt like he was grasping at conspiracy theories, giving them too much credit without the evidence to back them up. And I didn’t enjoyed most of the reactions on social media, including lemmy, yesterday, so I was pretty exhausted to hear him go over the worst of the right winged reactions.
Jesse Welles made a song about his death being bad and honestly it was dissapointing
I honestly really loved that song, thought it was very well put. Curious what disappointed you, I’d love you to elaborate
I don’t follow pop politics. And wouldn’t want to entertain those types of people, left or right. None of them probably deserve any respect.
None, really.
The ones cheering get my respect. The ones offering respect get my respect.
The grown men on the right crying because their entertainer died never had my respect to begin with.
I hate all these bags of hot air, they’re all partly to blame for the state of the world, both sides of that stupid fucking world.
