You know all throughout the cold war the USA was famous for no exit visas, no exit immigration controls. Just get on a plane and go, if you want to leave. It was a distinct contrast from the USSR that not only tightly controlled emigration; they also ran an internal passport system.

They are going to make sure people unsatisfied with American life are stuck here and made into legal slaves.
If that passes, I wonder how many would try and flee. The wave of US refugees could all of a sudden start.
