A few years ago I started a Steam Group with one goal, to figure out how to get Garry Newman’s attention and convince him to come back for a day, so people could finally earn the “Yes, I am the real Garry!” achievement legitimately.
I tried reaching out a few times, but never got through. So instead of waiting forever, I decided to make something positive out of it.
I’ve launched a Tiltify fundraising event for Child’s Play. We’re already sitting at $484 USD raised, and I’d love for more Garry’s Mod fans to get involved.
For the uninitiated, Child’s Play is a charity that provides games, consoles, and entertainment to children’s hospitals and domestic violence shelters around the world. It’s been helping kids escape difficult realities through play for over 20 years, something every gamer can relate to.

Even if Garry dismisses our attempt at grabbing his attention, we’ll still be doing some good in the world.

Garry’s Mod was HUGE back in the day, it has ~25 million copies sold.
Love the idea, you should put in why that achievement is illusive or hard to get. Like what’s the deal with it and why you need his attention to get it.
The achievement simply requires you to play with Garry, the guy who made the game.
That’s it.
