I still struggle with missing out on that cattery position.

Despite knowing it will just take time and perseverance, I can’t help but feel like I missed out on my only opportunity. That something is going to happen this year that will make my dreams impossible instead of merely difficult.

I’m absolutely terrified of getting stuck in call centres again, I actually get a lump in my throat.

I suppose I should end this post with hope, so, uh… I’m sure it will work out in the end? 😅💀

You very definitely didn’t miss out on the only opportunity, although I know it can feel like that at the time. When I’m having those type of thoughts I remind myself that I didn’t know about the thing until I knew about it, so therefore I don’t know what great things may come along in the future, that I don’t know about yet (if that makes sense?).

I also did the call centre thing in the past for way too many years, so I get where you’re coming from with that. Was a necessary means to an end at the time (needed $). I did further study and now have a much better job in a different field. Just keep chipping away and I’m sure you’ll get there, too. You got this!!

It’s easy to tell yourself the “logic” of the situation, but to actually believe it is another thing.

I can’t guarantee it’s going to work out for you, but seeing some semblance of your character on here indicates that you’ve got a good chance!

Have you looked at Kookaburra Vets? I just randomly googled and it seems like quite a few entry level vet nurses are posting ads on there for work. You’re not alone in the hunt for a job!

I agree, Stud shows determination, persistence and intelligence. All good qualities that help with success. 👍She is also gifted with the support of her SO, the value of which cannot be underestimated. 💖

It feels like a big deal to miss out but something else will come along. If another job comes up at the cattery you should put in for it, no matter what it is. That will show them how keen you are to work there

It is a shame, there are catteries that really could use someone like you. Get that bag and keep your head up 🐾

    The order:

Regret -> clean bird bath -> notice no birds use it except for a pigeon-> regret -> clean gutters -> realise there’s no rain coming -> scratch head and have an existential crisis -> bribe resident magpie which is basically the mafia at this point.

On the plus side the work is already done when you get sudden rain the next time. And the magpie has a private pool when it boots the pigeon

I’ve had a bit of birdbath tribulation as well. When I put it out the back for the first time it wasn’t long before the damn myna birds took it over and started bossing away all the birds I wanted to attract 🙁So I put it around the side of the house and now I never see birds there because it’s too close to our door. The bees get a drink though.

Boyo doing my head in. If you want resume advice, listen! Yes, I don’t know your industry. I do know inconsistent formatting and incoherent phrasing. Do not claim attention to detail when you have misspelt the word references.

Well that was an depressing look at the news this morning. Tv off and plan for the day is shower then some housework. Local magpie pair turned up so they got a bit of left over roast pork for their breakfast. They then sang a lovely song.

Cookware and bakeware audit completed. Massive quantities of items that I almost certainly won’t use again. Vinnies will do well out of this I think. Will be taking a cartload up there tomorrow. How did I end up with 3 (3!) very large mixing bowls? I’m keeping the best one and a medium size one and ditching the rest. Also 5 small/medium frying pans - I only use one at most. The large frying pan still gets a workout, but the small ones??? Still, the cupboards are now clean and tidy.

Interestingly, the stockpot has vanished into the aether - will have to replace that at some stage.
