i think they’re supposed to be releasing a new local code model too sometime soon… i’m looking forward to seeing if it can help me make a media server and app so i can share my mp3s/playlists to android auto

Like Plex or Jellyfin? Plex works great, but I’m not sure how well Jellyfin works with Android Auto.

yeah totally something like plex, but afaik there isn’t anything that will stream my mp3s to an app on my android that i can then use with android auto… i just want to get rid of spotify… i’d love to have it interface with Lidarr so if we want to hear some songs on the road we just tell it what and let my machine at home do the downloading and then stream it

I don’t think Auto support is on the server side, more the client. But as far as I know, any Subsonic client that works with Navidrome should work. At least Symfonium does. Its a one time purchase app though. I use Navidrome and find it significantly better than Jellyfin for large music libraries. There’s too much metadata and Jellyfin is slow as heck when I tried to integrate music into my movie server. Set up Wireguard to split VPN back to your home and it’s like having your own Spotify.
