I like the idea of Ashton as a straight union guy but seeing this gaffe, his response half throwing his staffers under the bus, and then trying to scroll through his policy on his website - I’m not all that convinced of his ideological commitment or technical understanding outside of being pro-worker.
I mean, his staffers probably suck ass if they’re using LLMs. He should 100% be throwing them under the bus if they’re the usual shitlib NDPers.
I agree, but something about the response made me feel that he may have had more involvement and is trying to shift all the blame to them to save face. I have no evidence for that; it just left a bad taste in my mouth.
