This is actually more important than people may think.
I’m not a US gun nut, more of a US gun nerd.
Gun Owners of America… is… basically the super libertarian, even more pro gun rights than the NRA, gun organization in the US.
They are even more bull-headed and uncompromising than the NRA when it comes to total 2nd Ammendment rights.
They’re not as large or powerful as the NRA, but they are almost certainly the second biggest gun lobby group type thing in the US.
If they’re saying this… there is a decent chance that a lot of the more libertarian than conservative gun owners are going to listen.
Then they go on to softball the rest:

I’m not trying to glaze GOA, I’m just honestly shocked they said anything critical at all, given the overall situation.

So don’t get excited. At the absolute best they might say this one murder was over the line but they won’t be rallying to any movement. And that’s generous.

It managed to get Charlie (moistcritical) to go off on an actual rant about the total cultish hypocrisy of anyone justifying the execution.
It managed to get the fucking roach king Asmongold to actually conclude it was unjustified.
Not that GOA came out against it per se, but just the whole situation, the footage.
Point I am trying to get at is that this event looks to be serving as a wakeup call for anyone who open or conceal carries, that if you simply legally have a gun on your person, do nothing illegal, but … exist in that state near an ICE agent?
Well you having a gun = you’ve signed your own death warrant, apparently.
This may actually serve as a wakeup call to a good chunk of the more libertarian types that being pro 2A and being pro fascist are mutually exclusive positions.
Makes you wonder what those paramilitary militias in the USA think about ICE.

GOA has… a fair bit of pull with, or perhaps importance to a lot of those types of folks.

Is that where we see the second amendment people finally turning?
Yes. GOA speaking out is an extremely large Crack, potentially dam breaking.
Trump obviously doesn’t give a shit about gun rights. He also doesn’t give a shit about gun deaths so he’s just been doing nothing about them to give the illusion he supports them. But all he wants really is to use them for their vote and support. This declaration, right there, proves to them that he doesn’t care for their cause. I hope this grows in something bigger.
Of course GOA will defend Pretti, he was white. Weird moment of (still fucked up) consistency out of the gun nut crowd.
