Because he tries to rig elections and sometimes succeeds.
Every embarrassing fact is “fake news”
Because he puts out lies as news that are embarrassing to his enemies
Every scientific truth is a hoax
Because scientific truths don’t make him money. Raping the environment, etc. makes him money
Every protest against him is “paid”
He’s been paying people to show up at his events for decades. Not all, but a lot. Take the Melania movie for example.
He said 2016 was rigged even though he won. It’s not a fragile ego. It’s a fascist dictator. He knows the vote is legit, but if he can convince enough people to side with him, it’s gonna make the whole dictator thing much easier.
He also said the same thing for the 2024 election
He gets a kick out of spouting obvious lies and getting away with it.
Don’t confuse mass scale propaganda, cover up, and distraction as insecurities, it may be both but discounting it as just insecurities is dangerous.
I always thought that 1984 was a hyperbolic alegory for a dictatorial police state, yet here we are.
