This is what your brain looks like on the belief that 1. Nazi Germany and Italy were somehow not capitalism. And 2. That fascism is just when the state is really strong and nothing to do with who controls the state.
Fascism is when government does stuff, and if it does A LOT of STUFF that’s NAZISM.
Moreover, they get really confused by the state’s ability to choose to appropriate land and businesses, then conveniently choose to forget that the entirety of America was founded on the appropriation of land from Native Americans.

Well if you don’t care that China doesn’t run death camps or invade other countries and actually improves the material conditions of its citizens it’s an easy mistake to make.
The Capitalism, Fascism and Socialism understander has logged on. I am in awe of their mighty intellect.
It’s even more basic mistake, not understanding the class nature and function of the state.

It’s so obnoxious because all states that have legal markets (i.e. all states) make use of them to some set of ends. Are they seriously going to say America doesn’t “utilize capitalism and market systems to achieve the ends of the state”? Do they not listen to what American government officials talk about all day? Because genuinely most of it is that.
But perhaps even worse is of course them not differentiating the ends of the state or how those ends are determined, as others have noted.

The really into the weeds fascists like to differentiate between ‘Fascism’ (what Mussolini did) and ‘National Socialism’ which is what the nazis did. However, even those that are splitting these kinds of hairs recognize that communism is not ‘National Socialism’.
