A gun craves the blood of its owner most of all.
It’s quite the paradox, considering how much more gently police deal with armed protests than unarmed ones.

The obvious solution is to have more guns owned by less-suicidal people.
Well, technically there will wind up being fewer suicidal people if everyone has guns.
w-well then what do I need the gun for?
To not shoot yourself with, obviously.
Waiting periods and background checks probably help with this to at least reduce the number of people that can buy a gun while actively dealing with a mental health crisis. On the other end of things, assisted suicide would probably help people with terminal conditions choose a less risky method.

That’s only useful at that point in time and only for someone (or more likely a household) without any guns already. So pretty much entirely ineffective.
Auto-euthanasia would have a price tag that probably defats it’s usefulness too.
