I’d love to see this community get off the ground, so I thought I’d chip in with something simple. A quick check-in post to ask you all how your week is going.

I’ll start. I’ve been taking my new medication (Venlafaxine) for 2 weeks now. I’m going back and forth over whether or not it’s helping me, but I’ve been going on more walks (exposure) and chatting a bit more on Discord (again exposure as I have real bad social anxiety) so I feel like maybe it is? Crossing my fingers.

What about you guys? How’s your week going? (and it doesn’t matter if you’re responding today or a year from now!)

Im not sure if I have anxiety or depression but I keep getting into funks and I know I need to check into it but there is so much that needs doing and the thing I feel sorta keeps me from getting things done.

I got zero sleep Sunday, and took a sick day. Found out my car was leaking from its transmission, so I spent my sick day being sleepy and installing cv shaft seals. I had Tuesday off, but had forgotten about taking that day off until I got to work. So I went home, and did some cleaning. Then I went to bed, and slept great until 1am when I had to go open the gate for the ambulance, because my combative and helpless mother in law couldn’t catch her breath, and NO she does not need the oxygen machine, she is going to “wean herself off of it”. Don’t smoke, kids.

Today is going well, but I’m still suspicious.

I’m past my two meetings that required significant masking - putting on my stage persona - for the week, so I’m pretty happy.

I live my job, but I feel drained before and after those occasional meetings.

Anyway, I’m settling in with my fingers crossed for an anti-social few days of coding.

2 weeks isn’t a lot of time to judge a new med, in my opinion. Keep at it! :)

My week is poor but not due to anxiety. It’s waiting, though. It’ll strike when it sees a moment. I picture mine as a shoulder gremlin with a megaphone.
