The lawyer interactions are a bit interesting. But I’m not sure if it’s really as sinister as the reposts are suggesting.
You can see that the lawyer is the puppetmaster and handling him really overtly. He grabs the billionaire client multiple times with both hands and is clearly in control. But that also seems to be Wexner’s type of hiring strategy. And actually seems to confirm his story about Epstein: he places a lot of trust in people around him and expects them to do what’s best.
Timestamps:
1:04:45: First scuffle between HoC lawyers and Wexner Lawyer.
2:13:58: [Wexner Lawyer] “Can I have one second. This will make this thing move a long a lot faster” Then whispers “Don’t tell stories okay?” Then louder: “Just answer the question (chuckles)”
2:51:39 [House staffer]: “Are you aware of how Mr Epstein would have been able to attend Victoria Secret events if not invited by you?”
Wexners body language becomes very defensive almost helpless. He fumbles on, and then the lawyer intervenes for the first time:
2:52:46: [Wexner Lawyer] “The only answer is ‘You don’t know’” after which Wexner proceeds to parrot that line.
4:23:30 [House staffer]: “How was Epstein able to do that job but also work for other clients?”
Wexner expands. Lawyer and House staffer nod about Wexner expanding too much.
4:25:06 [Wexner Lawyer] ”I will fucking kill you if you answer another question with more than five words, okay?
Both lawyer and Wexner seem to laugh and take this as a joke.
4:40:22: The lawyer leans in again and whispers what some construe as a threat. We need audio cleaners to clean up the audio from this and see if we can make out what he really says. But Wexner stops smiling and laughing after that comment.
5 hours long.
I’m 20mins in, and they get pretty much straight to the case of establishing the nature of the Epstein/Wexner relationship.
Which I am assuming is just “we were associates, I did nothing wrong”, correct?
Epstein? Barely even knew the guy. He did my inventory.
