CUBA IS SPIRALING into a humanitarian crisis. The country’s long-standing economic and political turmoil reached new heights this week as the effects of the Trump administration’s oil blockade took hold.
The president’s targeting of Cuba is part of the administration’s broader attacks on the region, where the U.S. kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores earlier this year and has executed more than 140 people in boat strikes.
Missing from mainstream news coverage of Trump’s attacks on Cuba and U.S. efforts to impose regime change in the region is a recognition of how Trump’s policies fit into his attacks on immigrants in the U.S., Bustamante says.
“One of the, I think, subtext of why this administration might be keen on government change in Cuba, like in Venezuela, it’s not just about being able to plant the flag and say, ‘We buried communism in the Americas. Something that no other president could do,’” Bustamante says.
“It’s also about, we can deport more people. And so how does the Cuban American community react to that? That, I think, is an open question. Something that I haven’t seen linked yet to the conversation about regime change, per se.”
To have someone to pick on, to bully, who can’t fight back.
He’s had a hell of a lot of the world fighting back against all his stupid shit this time around, and he only feels big and strong when he can bully someone who doesn’t have the position or resources to fight back, much like his victims in the Epstein files.
In my opinion: that’s it, that’s all, there’s nothing more to it. Ascribing a more long-term plan to it is idiocy, he would tear apart Cuba for shits and giggles just like he is doing to the US. He gives not a single good god damn what happens to it after. It has nothing to do with regime change unless it’s just self-fellatio of saying “my army did what bone spurs ass couldn’t ever do and I’m gonna steal the valor for it while calling them losers for risking their lives for my idiocy.” He has no plans, he has no scruples, he literally is a child-bully who never grew up and has spent his entire life abusing people that he has power over because it’s the only thing that brings him actual joy.
He’s a sick fuck.
I doubt that Trump is really even aware of the Cuba situation nor does he give a shit. I think this is all driven by Marco Rubio.
Trump is bone spurs. He’s the one who dodged the draft that way.
But otherwise, yeah. He’s an abuser and will always look for someone weaker.
Accidentally left out the word “my” there should have been “my bone spurs ass” with the implication being that it was Trump who claimed bone spurs to avoid the draft. Anyway, yeah, sorry for the confusion because of a mistype.
I mean yes but also fuck the draft. Vietnam was a hellscape and a travesty. Daniel and Philip Berrigan were fully justified in burning down a draft agency with no one inside. The draft was a terrible and horrid concept which killed and injured tens of thousands of young men.
I completely agree. Forced conscription is plainly slavery. And I stand with John Brown on that issue.

Batista 2.0. Back to mob rule.
I wouldn’t call Batista’s reign “mob rule”. It sounds more like a military dictatorship.
