Welcome everybody to the weekly Tradition of our group our Weekly Discussion Thread. This week I have no witty clip or introduction as none seem appropriate, all I have is anger and sorrow.

Never forget who we are fighting against. The imperialist system.
This is a global fight. We have to do for our loved ones and, if you are a parent, for your children. If we don’t fight, tragedies like this will keep repeating.

Have a great week, everyone. Stay safe if you’re in potential danger, and if you’re in one of the imperialist aggressors, do what you can to damage the war efforts! Ideally your org will be doing good work already, but be sure to combat hasbara and misinformation when you can. This is an unpopular war in a string of unpopular wars even in the heart of the Empire.
As always, communism will win.
الموت لأمريكا!
Death to America!
الموت لإسرائيل!
Death to “Israel”!

تعيـــش المقاومـــة!!! 🇮🇷🇵🇸🇾🇪🇮🇶🇱🇧✊🏼

Just want to say that I’m really stoked there’s genuine community and activity both here and across lemmygrad / lemmy. It’s been harder and harder to swallow my disgust using reddit and feeding the machine just to keep in touch with the world. Thank you for the work you’ve put into this space, comrades.
I recently found this place/lemmygrad and I am so glad that I did. I had recently gotten banned from what I thought was a leftist forum for questioning the propaganda against DPRK and was honestly kinda lost for a while before this place. I’ve not posted before (until this one) but it’s been vital for having me informed on the state of the world without being influenced by imperialistic bias.
Welcome comrade! We’re glad to have you!
Welcome.
welcome! excited to meet other relative newcomers or those who arent too well versed in political ideology/ml as of yet, makesme feel less alone. while i was able to deprogram from stuff about prc and dprk few years back, the stuff on this site about ukraine/nato war has been really illuminating, as well as the thread on iran.
Same, I haven’t been commenting or contributing really, but this space has meant alot to me, especially the past couple of days
:) nice to have you!!
Glad you found your way here.
glad you’re here!! it’s nicer to be here than on astroturfed shitty subreddits that ban you if you have an actual worldview
🫵 You WILL have hope, comrade.
Im trying
im magic school busing into ur brain and finding the big lever that says HOPE on it and rallying my little students to all clamber up and cling onto it so that their weight pulls the lever down and then everything will be a-okay i think
In a break from usual Tradition I this was the second place photo for this week

The backpacks from the Elementary School, the United States decided to bomb. I have no words, only anger and sorrow.
Fuck the kkrackker empire and its zionazi colony.
At this point, I genuinely have a hard time trusting white people on anything. eurokrakkers seem to only know the language of genocide, war, and imperialism.
My heart goes out to all the victims of USian imperialism, the enemy is strong, but the united people will win.
These are harsh times comrades, don’t let despair take you. Take care of yourselves physically and mentally. We need to be at our best to face this head on.
I wish you all a great week! Communism will win, the imperialist enemies will fall
Happy International Women’s Day, comrades. We hold up half the sky.

Happy International Women’s Day!🌹
i spent like a good 10 minutes refreshing this site looking for the soviet women/american women quote and it didn’t work today but i was gonna send that to my friend for womens day
women? more like, “woahman” because women are amazing 😎
Some of the places that are getting brought up in the megathread, like Bahrain, are really making me feel I need an ML crash course in what all is actually in the region and its recent (decades) history. There’s a decent amount I know, but I’m realizing how limited it is.
What is happening in Bahrain is what it will look like when the imperialist presence weakens in every country of this world (it will be more prominent in the weakest links in the Global North and the Global South). That’s why it is important to organize.
Opportunities for a revolution like Bahrain will keep appearing as long as the imperialists power declines.
Great point!
Planning a 2200 km pilgrimage takes quite some effort, it turns out. Nonetheless exciting times ahead.
Political wise it’s quite, I guess? Next week there is a general strike in Belgium and a huge turnout is expected. And we have the 8th of march, of course. Though that’s a Sunday, which lessens its publicity.
Also looking forward to get out of this job. I’ve seen a lot of weird things happen and everytime you think: well this has to be the most weird thing to happen, only for a guy to piss through our mailbox today. People really can be animals.
The United States has launched a military operation in Ecuador to combat drug trafficking

Trump really has some horrendous military advisors. You’re suffering massive war resource losses in West Asia, actively spending billions on war resources there and now boots on the ground in South America.
Really living up to Reagan’s war on drugs and Bush’s war on terror at the same time there, Donny
Based on your source apparently it’s carried out in collaboration with the Ecuadorian government.
It is. Trump has been putting significant pressure on Latin American governments to assassinate and arrest cartel members. This is part of the reason why the Mexican government went after El Mencho.
The Trump admin has already put significant sanctions on Colombia for resisting.
seriously??? my god???
Oh, Donald. You and your uncontrollable and unwinnable wars. 🤦 Obviously it’s not just you, it’s also many people in your admin, but still.
holy fuck, scouring r/tankiethedeprogram and seeing the usual either hasbara bots or straight up fucking insane people is crazy. i swear to god i just saw one straight up copy pasted from like, maybe what could be just the intended ‘output’ or whatever cuz the comment which wasn’t supposed to be a quotation had quotation marks on it. langley lazy as fuck today, my god
that subreddit fkn sucks so many times. omg. thought I was the only one who finds hasbara there.
for the most part i think i mentally block it out from being anomalous since it’s largely just par for the course for mainstream social media, reddit is the opposite of an exception. it’s just the stray commenter that gets there and starts talking about “You’re just as bad as Israel for hating Israel” oh my god bruh. but you will, indeed, find them on like, every single post, so i think people just tune it out and forget that on other platforms like lemmygrad you wont find that sort of thing
good morning! death to usa and its proxy israel. and also, while this is less relevant to the topic at hand, i will never stop wanting to wrest justice from the decrepit and rotten hands of unrepentant japan, who is still yet to issue sufficient reparations or admit responsibility for all those they slaughtered, raped, and tortured.
I don’t think I’ve ever followed a war this closely before. It’s kinda surreal, especially with the hits the empire is taking. I’m not sure it’s the best thing for me though, how closely I’m following it; my abnormally anxious tendencies probably make it more nerve-wracking to follow. But also, it’s like, this seems like a turning point of one kind or another, so maybe I’m right to be anxious. If Iran can manage to shatter the empire’s hold in the region or even significantly weaken it, that’s huge, but I still fear the opposite too. It sure seems like it is, in some ways, an existential fight for the independence of the region from western imperialism and the survival of the region against the nakedly barbaric onslaught of zionist colonialism. In that sense, I guess it is all the more reason to trust that Iran has a plan and is taking the stakes here very seriously. And to do what I can, however small, to further the fight of anti-imperialism.
