Gods plan? A crusade? But Jerusalem is not in Iran…
They don’t care.
Military people are nut jobs.
Religious people are nutjobs.
MAGAs are nutjobs.
Both people kill people in the name of the rich. Both people should be on the front lines without body armor.
Yeah, God’s divine plan to destroy the US.
They “sent complaints”? They didn’t refuse to fight due to the First Amendment violation?
They’re complicit.
Technically they are slaves of the United States government and have no legal mechanism to say no even if the action is illegal.
If they refuse they will be court marshaled and jailed until the case is brought at the military court months later.
They absolutely do have legal mechanisms, you just described a facet of them. I get what you’re saying, but my father was court marshaled twice and prevailed in both cases. Not that it’s too be taken lightly, as I understand your point, it’s true that it isn’t some simple mechanism.
They absolutely do have legal mechanisms
You are assuming the US is still a country of laws - silly you.
Everyone enjoys a vibes based belittling, but people are still being court marshaled and jag officers still exist.
My point was that military personnel have no legal right to simply no because it might violate constitution. Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) is the only relevant document here and it gives government the final say in the outcome by design. Hence my use of terminology “slave”.
Ya, not gonna split hairs on a poor use of the word slave here. But, otherwise I agree and stated so.
Fair. I do not want to diminish the meaning of word slave as those people had no choice. Military personnel while indirectly funneled into military service through economic and other factors are consenting participants.
Heard that, one hundred percent.
So then be jailed instead of murdering innocents? Seems prettty selfish of them.
I’m not justifying their actions. I’m just adding context that it’s not as simple as saying “no”.
Every single person who murders innocent civilians should face consequences. From cowards that issue these orders to slaves that execute them.
