It makes sense. I have not watched regular TV in years, because it’s not worth it with the ads. I have not watched any streaming services either, because I am not paying for more then one subscription for my content and that might as well be a VPN.

I still watch lots of youtube though. But with an adblocker. Obviously. Everyone I know uses it and some of them don’t use adblockers. They are the truly cursed wretches in this whole insane calculus.

Couldn’t imagine using the real youtube site / app. Revanced gets rid of the homepage, thumbnails, shorts, ads, and automatically skips sponsorships.

It’s wild how few still know about them. It’s like black magic when you set it up for them and they instantly lose interest after. Tech illiteracy is wild.

Those companies buy ads more than they earn revenue from them, Disney being a huge ad buyer. Many ad tech companies existed off the backs of Disney slop. I’d be surprised if those companies care about the ad revenue at all, but rather it’s a way they can reduce their own internal ad spend and create stronger price discrimination so they can profit maximize their higher tiers (how much would they spend to NOT see an ad).

Don’t stop at just ublock. Make sure to also use sponsorblock, yt-dlp, invidious, and NewPipe. Use a VPN. Give Google NO DATA and no attention to ANY ads.

    And don’t watch Mr. Beast.
