Given Iran fired on British territory first, legitimacy doesn’t seem to be a factor.

        And which territory was that?
Was it a base being used militarily against them?

The UK’s military base on Cypress was attacked in the opening weekend of the war. At the time the UK was not allowing the US to use any of its bases. Once that (and attacks on the gulf states who also werent participating in the war) happened the UK shifted to allowing the US to use its bases for “defensive” strikes.

As per the article you linked, Iran had prior to that fired at Cyprus, but not hit anything, but looks like you’re right that none of the missiles/drones actually made it to land until after the position changed, fair enough.

But prior to that Iran had already hit:

                  • Saudi (28th of Feb)
                  • UAE (1st march, so same day as the position changed but it says its early in the morning so I assume before)
                  • Bahrain (multiple attacks starting 28th feb)
                  • Qatar (starting 28th of feb)

                  and others.

Iran launched drones at the UK bases on Cyprus and Riyadh long before any announcement that the UK would let the US use them.

I’m definitely opposed to the war with Iran but let’s put facts first; Iran through their proxies have been indiscriminately firing on ships in the gulf for nearly a decade and when the US and Israel attacked them they launched missiles and drones at pretty much every cluster of buildings near to the Gulf with no concern for what they might hit or any apparent strategy.

The fact is Iran are going to attack UK bases whether the UK is involved or not.

well see I can see allowing the strikes then. These are things countries decide to do so even if they had not or had really struck in the past I think the big thing is if iran as struck it since the invasion began. Basically are they asking for it (iran that is). im not british though so peanut gallery here. you know if was kinda nice back in the day when a democracy sorta had to get an attack to start attacking a place. pretty sweet those days.

Likely after buying bitcoin fakes from trumps mushroom stains. Failed to convince the rest of the world to help.
