As per this post, said instance is using AI for moderation (both local and remote). I highly doubt anyone on this instance wants their data fed to the slop machines, so I would encourage a prompt defederation.

They tend to be pro AI, especially for images. These are not private forums. AIs are consuming all of our posts. I hate it too, but that’s what’s happening these days. I think they are just using tools to moderate. It’s a large instance so I can see where the help is needed. If someone wants to join and volunteer instead, I’m sure they’ll let you help.

The instance had a vote regarding pro-genocide speech and whatnot. People are sick of the US and Israel destroying things and acting with impunity. Who isn’t?

If there is a reason this is not a nothing burger, I’m not seeing it.

Also, if I’m getting it right, they ban people at instance level for having the “wrong opinion”? If so, concerning to say the least.

What concerns you exactly? I quite like that any fediverse instance that takes a stand on any particular topic has the ability to effectively nuke interactions from people who have nothing positive to bring to the party.

They have the liberty to do whatever they want, but besides potential laws, it is concerning as an user to interact with an instance seemingly going that way.
