    This is a good start but honestly only distinguishing between “Apps” and “Games” leaves a lot of room for bad actors.

    A calculator that uses 1GB RAM would be considered compliant based on the numbers rolling out in Feb. 2027.

    It really feels like Google should be providing more transparency to the user - apps should have a call-out on their Play Store page that says, e.g., “typical RAM usage 0.6 GB, higher than 96% of similar apps.”

    Performance metrics should be public and transparent so users can make informed choices.
