Sitting down with 99% of my colleagues during lunch. “Playing the links”, fantasy football, ai-generated memes, or how much wealth they have. Christ read a book or something for Christ’s sake.
Yeah it sucks. Everyone is into brainrot ai content these days.
Me looking at my family full of conservatives (and borderline fascists) conversing, fully aware that i could’ve been killed if that day i decided to present myself with painted nails:
That’s normal.
That’s why we talk to each other and learn about each other’s interests.

Linus tech tips discussing his private plane or high end hardware nowadays…
Nah, but i thought that while reading this tweet… Does that count? 😅
I sometimes hear the words coming out of my mouth and think, “Damn, if me from 20 years ago could hear me now, they’d think we have nothing in common.”
Same, it’s hilarious being an adult

not on purpose, but the folks in the break rooms are almost always that loud
Yes, I call them family.
wait, isn’t that normal?
You will never guess but: people are multifaceted. 🤯🤯🤯
<Cut to me listening to my fundamental-religious, right-wing, sports-ball loving family, and trying not to explode>
Sportsball and the weather are two of the things that are completely neutral.
This is exactly why I stopped eating lunch in the staff lunch room. Those people are boring AF and can’t find much to talk about other than work or the gym. I’d rather eat at my desk and read a book.
