Isn’t meteorite staff with rock sling actually one of the most effective ways to beat her since it tricks the dodge response too early?

This is a legit Git Gud moment.

    Rock Sling absolutely wrecks Rennala.

Rock Sling does do entirely standard physical damage to which Rennala is weak to and it is found right next to the Meteorite Staff and this staff boosts Rock Sling by an additional 30%.

Yes, it’s a souls game, we magic users know we’re supposed to roll around on the ground with a big stick in our hands. Some of us want the dignity of standing during the fight, even if that makes it harder.

I took out Blood guy with the comet trick before they patched it. My feet never left the spot I spawned on. He died walking down the stairs. It was glorious.

Keep the staff in your off-hand if you want all three rocks of Rock Sling to hit the target. The Arrow’s Reach talisman also increases the effective range of Rock Sling (and some other spells, but I forget which at the moment).

It’s only worthless if you’re using anything other than spells that deal physical damage. Pretty much any Gravity school spells are good. Rock Sling will absolutely wreck her (and damn near anything else for that matter becsuse it’s not just physical, it’s specifically Strike damage which is arguably the best damage type to use in the whole game).

Rock Sling does standard physical damage. The only sorcery that does strike damage is Cherishing Fingers, a DLC finger sorcery.

Not all gravity sorceries do physical damage. Only Rock Sling and and Blades of Stone do entirely physical damage. Meteorite and Meteorite of Astel do mostly physical damage. The other gravity sorceries deal entirely magic damage (Gravity Well, Collapsing Stars, Gravitational Missile).

Unless you’re cheating with online guides. Finding that staff in the begin of the game is a ‘Goddess’ blessing.
