She really is a POS, isn’t she? She could have gone to be a modern literary legend, her books selling by the millions to every generation to come.

Instead, she decided to torpedo her image with many of the very people who had looked to her for inspiration, and now those people won’t read her books to their children, and won’t encourage them to read them, either. She had incredible momentum, and she just chose to end it.

30-50 years from now, middle school kids would have been reading her books in school, but now she’ll probably just be a footnote, an odd fact about a kid’s book series that was all the rage in the early part of the century, and then almost totally forgotten.

has directly admitted to being male and was incorrectly assigned female at birth

The article says no such thing.

Khelif confirmed she has the SRY gene

I have taken hormone treatments to lower my testosterone levels

Swyer syndrome would lead to low testosterone. There’s no other possibility for Khelif being female

I am a girl. I was raised as a girl, I grew up as a girl, the people in my village have always known me as a girl," Khelif said.

        Incorrectly AFAB.

This community is for critical analysis, but that does not include “nuh uh!”. What alternative explanation can you offer?

I’m not knowledgeable enough to comment on the medical side. I can confidently say however that nowhere in the article does she “directly admit to being male” and to having been “incorrectly assigned at birth”. That’s your interpretation.

The medical side is what makes the statement true.

SRY = male except in very rare cases. Khelif is not one of those cases, and thus is male.

Read what I’m telling you. She did not “directly admit” to anything of the sort. You’re interpreting.

Directly in the sense that it was something Khelif directly said. There were leaked sex tests before this that people dismissed as rumor.

These statements came directly from Khelif and can only be interpreted as Khelif being male. The statements cannot be interpreted as Khelif being female.

Directly in the sense that it was something Khelif directly said.

That is not how “directly” works. An example of a “direct” quote would be “I am not a trans woman, I am a girl. I was raised as a girl, I grew up as a girl, the people in my village have always known me as a girl” - which, coincidentally, refutes your interpretation of her “admitting” to being male.
