I dunno I really haven’t been following along too closely with this trial, just what I see on the news. Anyway it seems like it’s pretty obvious she had psychosis from ppd and tried to warn multiple people who just ignored her. Now her children are dead and her life is totally ruined, even if the jury finds her not guilty for her actions due to mental illness she’s gonna spend the rest of her life in a miserable psych hospital.
And that’s not to mention the true crime wackos online who are convinced her husband killed the kids and pinned the blame on her AND the misogynists who just want to see a woman punished.
My take is the system, capitalism, failed her every step of the way and now three children are dead.
Yeah. I flipped out on a friend who reposted some stupid ass Instagram story the other day where it was like "
say a prayer for the 3 men on the jury who have to explain to 9 women that ‘emotions’ don’t make you want to murder your kids!!" and tried to explain to him that she had severe postpartum, had been put on like 6 different depression medications and sleeping aids in the months leading up to the murder, and was severely mentally unwell given she was searching shit like “How to slit your throat to die” and “Can you treat a sociopath” in the week leading up to the murders.Even went so far as to explain to him that the way “justice” works in this dumb fucking country means that everyone is out to see her get the death penalty, even though that does nothing to bring her children back and does not actually bring any benefit to the world other than the sick satisfaction your favorite right-wing poster online will get from it. Told him to, at the very least, just read the wikipedia article on the case instead of getting his information about the trial/murders from instagram reels if he wanted a somewhat neutral detailing of Clancy & the events leading up to the murders.
His response? “I’ll just wait for the Netflix documentary to come out”
Which…sure, okay. I’m not even surprised at that because the average american loves consuming biased/fear-mongering ‘true-crime’ slop documentaries as much as they love frothing at the mouth over a case they don’t even have a 10th degree connection to, just because they saw some dumbass post or courtroom image of Clancy that was touched up with a face filter/AI that makes her look like she’s grinning evilly in court.
Same kind of people who post shit like “Kill your local drug dealer” on Facebook or wear “Kill your local pedophile” hoodies, and are always reposting some fear-mongering copypasta like 'IF YOU SEE SOMEONE WALKING BEHIND YOU IN THE TARGET PARKING LOT, THEY’RE MS-13 PROBABLY LOOKING TO TRAFFICK YOU. MAKE SURE YOU LOOK UNDER YOUR CAR AND IN YOUR TRUNK BEFORE YOU OPEN THE DOORS!!!" and as a result happily vote for their local fat-ass sheriff in their local elections because he promsied a flock camera on every corner.

It’s just insane how everything turns into a weird global spectacle now where the real issues are rarely discussed. I think most these people are just trying to make a quick buck on tiktok and don’t actually believe anything. We reached some stage of peak cynicism
