Shanghai’s pretty quiet. They banned car horns and there are so many electric cars and busses you don’t really get engine noise either.
SEA or India makes China feel tranquil imo.

Chinese people knew how corrupt China was in the Jiang/Hu eras, and while they certainly weren’t happy about it they weren’t overthrowing the government then. Now in a time of considerably less corruption thanks to Xi’s efforts some magical exposure of the corruption that still exists would probably just lead to people shrugging and saying “at least it’s better than 20 years ago”.
I don’t understand giving an award to people who haven’t achieved anything. Like even by right-wing ghoul standards, this is a participation trophy while Maduro’s government still stands.
I don’t think even leftist, anti-zionists Israelis would want military invasion against themselves, knowing all the hurt it would bring. You’ve got to be especially insulated to be able to handle the Iraq treatment, something only right-wing, state department-aligned ghouls will be.
I wish only bad luck on you, I’m afraid.
ok slaver
Yeah, you think, and hopefully come to the obvious conclusion that life inside life for cats is a wonderful luxury compared to any kind of life in the wild.
A gilded cage, my friend.
Would you prefer they simply be exterminated?
Honestly neutering existing populations until they phase out naturally seems most ethical.
So cat ownership is either harmful to the cat itself (indoors) or harmful to other animals (outdoors)?
Really makes you think
Outdoor cat keepers are the only exception; they simply provide food and shelter for a free, wild, and consenting being.
Do NOT criticise the parasocial muscle man
He reaches for something out of frame and the dog immediately yelps, pretty weird coincidence if its not a shock collar.
I feel like the easiest would just be to assign newborns one of 12 (or however many) archetypes and just rotate through the list constantly. So a baby born gets archetype 1, then the next born wherever in the world gets 2, then 3, then so on until 12 when we restart at 1.
Humans would never be able to trace it because so many babies are born and the data and infrastructure doesn’t exist worldwide to track births to the second. It’d be functionally random but divided exactly.
Wrestling only pretends to be real on the absolute surface, but you’re supposed to understand that it’s fiction. Once you’re past that detail its fundamentally just a very specific type of theater.
Still seems like a problem of religion rather than the practice of astrology in and of itself. You can politicise any otherwise innocuous practice and make it nefarious, but that’s the fault of the political actor rather than a failing of the practice in my opinion.
It’s wayyyyy better than religion and it’s not even close. Even amongst those who take it seriously, there’s no political astrology trying to dictate how others live their lives. The worst discrimination it causes is “I don’t want to date you because you have the wrong birthday”.
Do you understand why people like to watch theater or movies?
Eh, I know a bunch of intelligent and worldly people, mostly women, who’re into astrology because it’s fun and usually harmless and gives them some funky avenue to interpret their world with. I don’t believe in it personally but I also don’t really care about people who do, and I don’t think it reflects too badly on people as long as they don’t take it too too seriously.
“China is going to have trains derailing all over the place, trust me”
Always a wild accusation, they have like 2/3 of the world’s HSR track and have had only a single major accident in the network’s lifetime, almost 15 years ago now.
It’s statistically the second safest network in the world if I remember right, and that’s only really because the Shinkansen has avoided having any major accidents at all.
I know more women into MBTI than men.
No idea how they enforce it but it works.
