I was excited about eve for maybe a month or two, it’s not worth it. They present this grand game where everything is possible, only to realize it’s only possible if you spend 200$ a month and give up your personal life for it. Just way too many systems designed around a game that exists for monthly subscriptions and micro transactions (nice ship, would be a shame if you couldn’t fly it because you didn’t pay us this month, oh but you can still log in and fly our less efficient ship…). Definitely impressive, but the financial pull really takes the heart out of the game.

Ok, so I was curious and went to his channel and browsed his videos. You’re absolutely right it used to be all internet “fame” gossip lol, with maybe a news story sprinkled in here and there. It seems he’s decided to shift his stance looking at the last couple of months. I honestly don’t mind the gossip sprinkled in because I don’t have the energy to keep up with all the influencer drama and I’m usually left confused when I hear about it.

I’ll admit I was surprised with realizing that post was from defranco, usually he’s way more neutral about his position when reporting on things. He’s trying to come off as genuine but then it all falls apart when he describes people yelling and just generally using a negative tone giving his position away.

I’m not sure if I share the exact same sentiment as @mint_tamas@lemmy.world, but I honestly did have the thought of, “Who (or For Whom), does this format work for anymore?”

Like I get it, it’s classical and all. A call back to a historic time where action was taken (just don’t look into it too hard, you’ll get disappointed if you learn outside the “Americuh” version). To a progressive it means anyone residing in the city limits (or once did), to a right-wing definition it would be the registered approved-citizens (blah blah).

This article also centers around the premise of the protests, so by saying “they don’t need this right now”, it seems you’re demeaning the protests and not the ICE actions which have been on-going. It’s apparent after reading more, but your first comment wasn’t a clear, concise, and easily communicated premise or else you wouldn’t see all of the confusion obviously

If you would just go one step further and put a link up that you already have, it would be 100x more helpful. I’m not disputing, but human nature/reaction is weird and logically we’re dying from a thousand cuts. A few percentage are misinformed because “they read somewhere once”, a few more by pure propaganda and gaslighting, then tribalism kicks in and someone may not even want to read your reply at all.

Just dropping a link lets them know you’re engaged and the link pops nicely instead of just non-stop text (you also have the links, it’s not a huge step). It also makes it appear you are just sharing info you have, not attacking the validity of their statement personally like you’re trying to one up them (this happens a lot unfortunately). None of this is important though unless you choose it to be, engage with how you feel best accomplishes your goal.

I strangely find enjoyment out of 100% something and I’m not currently the main player (mostly help my partner out in the difficult spots, collect items for upgrades and restock equipment). If it was just me I probably would’ve lost interest a while ago.

You’re absolutely right about the assets. The variety was baffling, we wondered if they were able to import a large library or if considerable time was taken modeling all of it. Would explain a lot for the development, and our hopes is that everything can just be carried over to the next installment so other areas of the game can be concentrated on.

This reminds me of a semi-friend I knew in highschool, dude really thought he was a cool guy and everyone was always up his ass even though he was a huge jerk all of the time (like a wannabe Tosh.O kinda style). For some reason I let him borrow my WC2 Battle chest and after a few months I asked for it back and got only one disc that was so thoroughly scratched it never even registered.

Interestingly, had a meth head who was visiting my roommate for some drugs (had taken shit from our place in the past) who borrowed one of my vhs sets while I was at work (was thoroughly pissed thinking it was gone forever), he brought it back the next day and had even wiped down and fixed the broken flap on the box. I try not to judge people borrowing stuff because of that and only let people borrow items I’m ok with losing and wouldn’t sour a relationship over.

I’m glad you brought this up because I’ve noticed the tone change in all the media as well. I don’t blame them and understand. They spent months or years screaming and calling out Trump after spending years during his first term pointing out everything wrong.
