Remember in 2019 when Bernie referenced this 2013 study and began saying this on the campaign trail:

Since (welfare reform) was signed into law, the number of families living in extreme poverty has more than doubled.

And then news media went fucking bananas trying to call him a liar? Well, one of the ways they did that was by regularly referencing a newer study(PDF) that found that wasn’t true at all. Now by not true, did they mean that people actually had more than 2 dollars a day? Nope. They basically counted government assistance as cash and called it a day.

Anyway, here’s some financial wonk making the argument that the poverty line is more realistically at $136,500.

I’m not saying it doesn’t happen , but ya gotta remember that the folks who are happy/content with the product typically don’t bother making reviews. It’s the folks who feel the most emotional about it, typically negative.

I didn’t do it for that link, but I’ve had the best luck with searching for what I want, sorting by most popular/most orders (they change it up), and then ordering from one of the sellers who have sold the most and their reviews aren’t overwhelmingly horrible. Doesn’t always work, but more often than not I’m usually happy.

And as conservative as those numbers are, let’s not forget that people are still seeing cognitive slowing without clocking any of the symptoms that indicate Long Covid.

2. Undercounting. Covid is just being flat out ignored in many cases. It’s not just the lack of masking, many places don’t even bother to test anymore.
