Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•good luck little buddy, see you in 5 years
13·2 years agolol fleshed out is definitely correct here. Down votes are confusing.

SinTacks@programming.devtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•Where did the recent air fryer trend come from anyway?English
1961·2 years agoBetter efficiency but more importantly it heats almost instantly. Thing is like magic. No preheating for 5+ mins.
Plus having a second oven is fucking awesome. I’m out there on thanksgiving with an oven full of turkey, baking dinner rolls on the side like an absolute gangster.

4·2 years agoNot following this one. Are we talking about dual booting or is this some military thing that I’m too non-combatant to understand?

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Walking Desk Is More Annoying Than A Standing Desk
4·2 years agoThe point would be to be outside. Were traveling right now and I can’t find the link but if you search for wolphrams life hacks type of thing there’s an article he wrote about it which was a fascinating read.
Personally I have an elliptical at home with a laptop stand on it and I love it.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Walking Desk Is More Annoying Than A Standing Desk
2·2 years agoWolfram uses a walking desk but it’s more of a laptop support like a baby bjorn. I kind of want one but looks like they need a bit of customizing.

Voyager@lemmy.world•Christian (Apollo Dev) on contributing to VoyagerEnglish
62·2 years agoIt costs him nothing and makes thousands of people happy. It contributes to the open source landscape which he built on heavily. Search his Reddit profile for open source mentions and see for yourself.

Voyager@lemmy.world•Christian (Apollo Dev) on contributing to VoyagerEnglish
173·2 years agoI have open sourced software and contributed to open source software. Bet you haven’t. Sure is nice for you to get the benefits of open source with Voyager though isn’t it?
SinTacks@programming.devto
Voyager@lemmy.world•Christian (Apollo Dev) on contributing to VoyagerEnglish
174·2 years agoI didn’t say he was obligated to open source it. He gains nothing by keeping it closed. If he had open sourced it I could still use it because I have a Reddit API key. If he open sourced it, it could be converted to work with Lemmy. But he effectively burned it down.
He doesn’t owe it to me to open source it but I can still think it was a shitty selfish decision.
SinTacks@programming.devto
Voyager@lemmy.world•Christian (Apollo Dev) on contributing to VoyagerEnglish
6328·2 years agoWow, pretty clear how he feels about it. But also he made plenty of money of Apollo and then just shut it down and refused to open source it. So I don’t feel particularly inclined to change my behavior here.
Edit: All these people white knighting a dev that made millions off his app.
On onion markets.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the worst case of question dodging you have seen someone do?
18·2 years agoWell I just came here from a thread where Googles economist accidentally revealed how much Google pays Apple (to be their default search engine in safari) while trying to dodge questions. That’s got to make the list.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google and major mobile carriers want Europe to regulate Apple's iMessage platformEnglish
83·2 years agoThis is just false, it’s sent over carrier networks and the carriers decide whose infrastructure to use. Google is one of several options. RCS is an open standard and it is the industry standard for SMS. It’s literally why every other non iphone can send high quality pictures to each other. Apple not adopting it is anti competitive.

He can’t just sell 2bn at once. They’re saying as he sold the price would naturally crater even without news getting involved.
