I agree, shocking to see them call it what it is, especially NPR.
Well now our government just labels this kinda of crime nihilistic violent extremism, instead of calling it what it is. They want the crime stats to ignore how much violence comes from the far right.
I use Librewolf but have enabled firefox sync on it. Just don’t like the AI features in Firefox 150 and don’t need an in browser VPN. So far it’s been usable. I also use helium browser for when I’m feeling minimalist or a site doesn’t play nice with something that isn’t chromium.

5·2 months agoVery level headed response by the Co-Founder/Co-CEO. Also yeah, probably reach out to them first too before publishing. Bare minimum professional courtesy. Love Mullvad even though I bought into the Proton “ecosystem”.

12·2 months agoI wonder which agencies and governments have access? I’m guessing bare minimum NSA, CIA, and higher level clearances at the FBI and DHS. Maybe even some of the 5 eyes countries. Definitely Mossad, that’s a given.
I’m so tired of incrementalism, been hearing the same old song and dance for 40yrs
I’ve been considering getting Fastmail for how feature rich it is. E-mail isn’t the place for E2EE IMO, but they support using it, they just don’t provide it themselves. If I need end to end I’m using signal or only sharing keys with trusted individuals.
Jesus Christ another one? What’s with all these vulrns giving no time to get patches out before going public? 7 days? Yeesh.
You have no idea what teaching critical thinking actually is, do you? It’s teaching thought exercises tin elementary that make students evaluate how they form their opinions and how to vet sources, in college or AP high school it turns into critical theory and trying write irrefutable dissertations of your position. It isn’t just CRT and it sure isn’t “identity politics“ though identity politics (which is an abhorrent term btw) can be defended through critical theory, see Judith Butler for instance. Anyhow you’re kinda dumb.

44·3 months agoWhose simping for Iran? I want both sides to lose, but the Iranian citizens to not be harmed. It’s two fascist regimes fighting each other tbh (well 3 really if we’re counting Israel). I’m on lemmy.ml though cos I’m an idiot and didn’t realize how this site worked, might switch instances.

What about self hosted options for some of these categories? For search you could do SearXNG, for music streaming plexamp, jellyfin, navidrome. Maps I’d add Gnome Maps (openstreetmap) for desktop and tablet use, obviously not a great choice for phones.
