Hi Everyone! I’m planning on adding stuff here but first enjoy your new weekly mega <3

As a reminder, please do not discuss current struggle sessions in the mega. We want this to be a little oasis for all of us and the best way to do that is not to feed into existing conflict on the site.
Also, be sure to properly give content warnings and put sensitive subjects behind proper spoiler tags. It’s for the mental health of not just your comrades, but yourself as well.
Here is a screenshot of where to find the spoiler button.
I went to a trans support group this week
Took a friend and my roommate was already a regular so I wasn’t alone which was really nice. I mainly went to help my friend cuz it seems like she really needed to find some kind of community, but I enjoyed it a lot as well. I didn’t say much since I’m naturally super shy in new groups. Definitely wanna go back.
I’m so glad you had a good time! I love my support group
What’s the kind of stuff you do in a support group? Maybe I should join one too.
At mine there’s one person from the org leading the group and they just ask the group to introduce themselves before asking a few silly questions. After that they asked us questions like “What’s something positive that happened to you recently”, “what’s something exciting that you did recently”, “Has anyone had a positive experience with a family member when coming out?”, things like that. Just topics that’ll start a bit of discussion and socializing. People can ask follow up questions to anyone who answers or give out friendly advice if the person answering is open to it.
It’s just a nice atmosphere for trans people to be openly trans and socialize with people like ourselves.
Almost like a curated version of our megathread i guess.
I’ll be going to one next week by myself, if I can overcome my social anxiety
I hope there’s other transfems around my age there that I can talk to
Good luck!! In my experience people were super friendly and non-judgemental. Personally I only introduced myself and then was too anxious to say anything other than whispers to the 2 people I already knew there.
