I think there’s something to be said for Trump delaying the Mexican tariffs, but keeping the Canadian tariffs in tact. Maybe someone in the Trump admin actually read a climate report and realized where all the arable land is going to be. Canadians should prepare for increased antagonism from the US while it fishes around for a casus belli. The Americans don’t want Mexico in the same way. At most they want a buffer zone in nothern mexico to stop climate refugees.

It’s a developing story. Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she had made a deal with Trump to delay the 25% tariff for 1 month. As part of the deal, Mexico is placing 10,000 Nation Guard members on the Mexico-US border.
