Depression isn’t being unhappy, wtf
Then why am I unhappy when I’m off my meds? Checkmate.
then why am I unhappy when im ON my meds? Checkmate. (send help, I went to the psych ward and it fixed nothing)
Keep trying. It took me over 10 years to find the right meds.
EDIT: This isn’t meant as discouragement. Most people find the right meds way sooner. The point is that it can take a few tries.
You guys have meds!? (/s. Working on it.)
It’s a meme, I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Obviously depression is more complicated than just feeling sad.
I realized I’m not actually depressed in a mind disorder sort of way because I was very happy during the lockdown when I was paid to just live and do what I want. Turns out it’s just being a slave to capitalism that makes me miserable.
‘You’re not depressed, you just have a rough life’ is the dumbest reason to invalidate people’s need for psychiatric help.
Stop gatekeeping depression and start acknowledging that people can be depressed from all walks of life.
Shit life syndrome is one term for it
