The key problem here is that it’s not just Walz making a singular mistake; it’s that his whole administration is illegally failing adequately safeguard information and illegally avoiding communications channels with official archiving capabilities built into them
The guy who took dumps next to stolen classified documents suddenly cares about national security. Cool.
What’s weird is that it didn’t seem like he put any thought into firing people during his first term
During Trump’s first term there were still Republicans who cared about things like:
- Constitution
- Law
- Good Governance
They’ve all been purged now.
This isn’t even an issue of legality in Trump’s world. Trump is upset that Waltz has the number of a journalist that Trump doesn’t like, which apparently is an indication of disloyalty. So it’s still weird that he hasn’t just fired the man
He could fire the VP and appoint anyone he likes (his son) without governance.
No, he can’t. The VP is chosen, not hired. He can only be removed by impeachment or resignation.
Chosen by who
The Vice Presidency is an elected position.
We don’t live in a society of rule or law anymore. You’re still under the assumption of words mattering. Apparently every wish or thought is an EO away.
Chosen by him, but he can’t fire the VP. Pence would have been gone Jan 5 if he could. Fun note, VPOTUS used to be the presidential runner up, until the twelth amendment. That’s a bit why the office is protected and elected seperately.
And why there are some strange laws that could keep two folks from the same state from running on the same ticket. It’s not forbidden, but there’s some weirdness about it.
