Shaming, gaslighting, and excessive micromanaging at work is making a comeback—and it’s all thanks to unpopular policies like return-to-office (RTO) mandates and mass layoffs. Failure to act costs employers over $2.1 billion each day.
Yup. I once had a job at a place called Kantar Media and it was incredibly toxic. Lots of backstabbing and favoritism. Lots of writeups and disciplinary actions taken against the most mundane of “infractions.” Lots of work confusion, with no one taking responsibility.
I’m honestly surprised there hasn’t been a violent outburst or mass shooting yet. They treated their employees like absolute dog shit.
The one I’m at started with 6 people and has now grown, and the backstabbing and favoritism are starting to appear after years of relentless effort on my part to prevent it.
It’s the natural state of things under capitalism, and fighting it without an organized union is a losing battle.
One thing is that these types of people are totally clueless. If you can get into a job where they don’t have anyone who can actually do work, you can straight up roll them.
They have no idea what to do when things actually get done because the only thing they can do is have meetings about who they think they’re in charge of.
The PMC and executive classes are straight up children.

So I’m stuck bedrotting because I wasn’t born rich? Sorry some of don’t do that fancy schamcy rich people crap.
