The same argument the south used. “You can’t have morals and be mad that we don’t”. The north did tell them their voices didn’t matter and they did table flip like brats and started a war that the north didn’t want. It sucks that some people have to be dragged kicking and screaming into morality, but the truth is that it’s not against the working class. To call educating “pontificating to their unenlightened moral inferiors” is such a self report. As though talking about climate change equated to beheading their family in front of them. These are people that don’t like being wrong and don’t care about being right, so anyone disagreeing with them is forcing them to be awful people, because what are they supposed to do? Change their mind? Learn something? It really feels like they can’t even hear themselves sometimes.
