Feminism is when we distill the essence of womanhood solely down to the ability to bear children, apparently?

And not even the ability. Queen terf is defining womanhood by hypothetical, abstract ability to bear children. Since I think she’s trying to include people with androgen resistance syndrome in her definition (intersex people born with outwardly female physiques but XY chromosomes).

She’s both a terf and believes intersex people are broken, lesser versions of a human.

People with complete AIS are still born with internal testes, so even though most people would consider them female, JK Rowling would label them male.

this is one of those things I can’t understand, beyond the typical “confidence of ignorance” thing. none of these losers ever has any understanding of biology more complex than like a 4th grade standardized test for the State of Texas. but they can’t stop making sweeping, dogmatic and inaccurate pronouncements as though they are the spokesperson for like some multinational advanced research lab that does foundational, primary research.

as someone with an actual advanced degree in the life sciences, one of the things I gleaned is that all of the categories of biology were invented by humans to help humans try to understand and communicate phenomena with each other. life is absolutely riddled with edge cases that blow up our categories, so being focused on categorization is to focus on our own artifacts instead of natural phenomena and very navel-gazey imo.

Just want to point out that Texas starts science standardized testing in 5th grade because that makes it funnier

It’s not a confidence of ignorance, it’s using the veil of science to justify hateful beliefs. JK Rowling has had hundreds of people calmly explain gender as a social construct and sex as a spectrum of genotypes and phenotypes to her. She doesn’t care and though she unavoidably knows better, and in fact cherry picks whatever scientific terms she thinks will let her justify her hatred.

bonding over womanhood being a celebration of each others’ egg-producing equipment. Any other attribute thereof simply being hobbies and memes the same way one might tell stories of running 5ks or quoting old Vines to one another.

In other words: what a myopic and useless definition of a woman.

People who obsess over policing gender are such fucking whiny-ass babies. Ultimate participation trophy to wedge in your snide, “umm actually women are women because they have a vagina, heh” into a conversation nobody asked your opinion on. Congratulations you’re assigned gender at birth.

I’m afraid gender is based on whether you get your eggs from your friends or hatch them yourself directly from Pokéstops. This is how it’s been since our god and queen Hillary Clinton proclaimed it before history began as she gave us the “Pokémon GO to the polls” commandment
