I was wondering what community members think of moving our CRPG community to piefed.world?

I moderate another gaming community on Piefed.world !turnbasedstrategy@piefed.world. Piefed interacts well with Lemmy content, has some nice features and responsive devs.

I spoke with a world admin (who is involved in both LW and PW) and at this point we can programmatically move all the subscribers, but not historic content (posts/comments).

Nothing is planned right now, I am just curious to know what people think. I prefer to stick to the consensus and focus on the RPG games.

      This is a good point. I also don’t like constant moves between instances that is so common within the threadiverse.

      IMO the feature set of Piefed is much better (better on-boarding for new users, some cool features such as ability to see comments for the same URL post from multiple communities).

      This is just a discussion thread, as things stand CRPG is staying with as-is and nothing is changing.

    I know moving communities is all the rage on the Fediverse and it sometimes is merited, but unless there is a pressing reason I’m not sure I see the motivation. c/Football has moved like five times now and every time it feels like engagement goes down.

      That is also a very good point. The constant moving of communities does get really annoying.

    I’m fine with it either way. If mod tools are way better over there, it would be practical.

    i’m afraid there was a bit of a misunderstanding. we can move the Lemmy.World and PieFed.World subscribers only, not subscribers on other instances. while we could update that on our end, that would only mean that we send content to other instances with subscribers, but it wouldn’t be synchronized on their end and show it e.g. in subscribed feeds or their subscribed communities lists.
