Usually it boils down to “the solution is for Hamas to surrender”. Apparnetly doesn’t matter that Israel was doing genocidal actions against Palestinians before Hamas’s existance, or that they are doing them currently in the West Bank. Immaterial.
You’re right about that, but I think implying they are Americans only lessens the impact of the statement. Better to say it’s the American ideals. People from London are not American but a significant portion of them are indeed poisoned by ideals of the country, which is the problem.
On that note, I’d normally call similar things a western belief but in this instance it’s such a predominately American vs overall western idea right now that genocide is fine that it’s hard to call it anything but.
I thought the islamophobia was invented by Europeans, it’s kind of a tradition from the middle ages or so. Being genocidal against the target is just the next step
