Redditers are not a bellwether for gauging the political trends among Americans, not even liberals

The entire site is an engineered echo chamber for a very specific brand of neoliberal open racism, the site is dead, everyone’s on TikTok

I dunno anymore… at my last job everyone talked about reddit constantly. It was a normal conversation starter for people to say “So I saw on reddit the other day…” and continue to espouse the same neolib viewpoints and try to back up the brainwormed conclusions.

I just point out all the people supporting regime change in Venezuela are the same people who supported genocide in Gaza and they want it for mostly the same reasons.

“You can never ever trick me to be on the same side as genociders again, you tried to use morals to take over and control the people of gaza and you’re trying to use morals to take over and control the people of Venezuela, you’re not moral beings you’re shameless liars.” is compelling and causes people unsure of the situation to doubt them.

Nobody has forgotten how much these people lied and lied and lied with regards to Israel. Connect the lies together and people will start to reject the new lies.

That’s essentially how class consciousness begins. Liberals claim to support every single liberation movement - except the current one. Claim to condemn every single imperialist war - except the current one. Claim to be against sanctions - except the current ones, and so on. They’ll support the official Western imperialist narrative until every last defense mechanism of the narrative crumbles, and that’s what happened with Palestine and the Zionist entity. We’re in an era where these official narratives are being exhausted more than ever.

That’s a good point did she publicly state her opinion on Israel? Fucking easy win with a lot of people “She supported genociding palestinians” is a red line for moral human beings now. Almost anyone in the UK that supports palestine will reject anyone who opposed it.

This whole shit is easy to muddy with people that aren’t familiar with the region that much either. “Maduro is pretty much the same as Sheinbaum and Lula, Brazil, Mexico and Venezuela really aren’t that different, they have the same regional problems and they’re governed similarly by all of these leaders, with very similar electoral systems. The difference with Venezuela vs these other two is that the US sees strategic value in overthrowing them and using their resources.”

Link together the places that people currently don’t have negative opinions about with the one that’s the current propaganda narrative and join together the similarities between them. It cuts through people’s lack of knowledge. Most of the anti-Venezuela propaganda relies upon people’s lack of knowledge, this can be exploited from the left just as easily from the right by just hooking into what people already do know about other places in the region. People will mentally borrow their opinion from Mexico/Brazil/Cuba/etc if you link them up, if people already have a positive opinion of the governance and policies in those places then they’ll bleed them together when you start putting them in the same brain compartments.

Remember some anti-trump libs trying to frame her getting the peace price instead of Trump as ‘justice’ for Trump bombing Venezuelan boats.

She praised Trump for those attacks and wants more armed intervention. This may be the weirdest nobel peace price I’ve ever witnessed, at least with Obama they gave it on rhetoric of closing Guantanamo and pulling out of Afghanistan and Iraq. She has done absolutely nothing to further peace and has been agitating in favour of a war for years.

Why do these people think that trump is a pariah without any supporters or partners? It is pure delusion to think that trump-ism is an abberation of the usual “liberal democracy” rather than the outcome. You can label anything as “fighting for democracy” and they will lap it up without any material analysis as long as there is a narrative that can be spun about trump being used/manipulated, as if he doesn’t have any agency of his own.

coping mechanism and flacid political rethoric to galvanize the well-to-do and PMCs. ‘this isn’t the real USA’, they cry in brunch.

thankfully once mecha-hitler becomes president 10 years from now the american people will have elder statesmen like donald trump to look back to.

They’re also calling Trump the “lesser evil” between the two. His term isn’t even over and they’re trying to sneakily habilitate his image for war

It’s not anything new. This is the crowd of people who have a comfy enough life and they are so far removed from consequences of their actions, they spend time debating the definitions of genocide and which country united states should spread democracy to next.

Every day this crowd is becoming smaller, every day they are becoming louder.

I was never super satisfied with how that election ended. I wish he had released the detailed election data, or Lula hadn’t had said anything so it didn’t look weird when he didn’t, because then it looked weird when her group did release a bunch of suspicious mysterious ballots that said she won. It was just confusing and I never really got satisfying answers, just accepted it after awhile.

Oh well, I’d still rather have him than someone who’s selling out all of their resources to US companies. That’s something you can’t undo. But it does make it harder to talk to liberals about Venezuela.
