I’ve heard of people running the dryer on the airing cycle with a few tennis balls in to hide the noise. Luckily enough I’ve never needed it, one of the perks of being in the sticks.
Interesting technique! I don’t own a drier. We are only about 1km from a big Boom site now. I’ve not heard sound check, so might be paranoid about how bad it will be…

I start low and up the volume a notch each half hour or so. It’s far from a perfect solution but helps.
