I guess this is nice if you have a few small magnets sitting around. I feel like if you have to go to the store to buy them you might as well just pick up a magnetic bit. I also favor using fasteners with better drive heads like torx or square bits; they drive better, and they stay on the bit too.
Or just use a Roberson.
Interesting idea that should work in a pinch, but you can also just magnitize your screwdriver and bits.
