Other countries and their silly notions that people born into wealth should be held accountable for doing bad things within a society.

Tbf, he wasn’t born into wealth, as he’s the son of the now crown princess from a prior marriage, before she married the crown prince.

See, the great thing about democracies (compared to monarchies) is that the heads of state and their families are subject to the same laws as everyone else…oh, wait.

Norway is both a monarchy and a democracy. There are several countries in Europe that are considered to be some of the most democratic in the world, which just happen to have a monarch as the head of state instead of a president.

What you are thinking of is an absolute monarchy, rather than a constitutional monarchy.

I mean, I expected the son of a royal to get off Scott free so I’m pleasantly surprised.

It depends on what rehabilitation looks like and whether it continues after release. Rape destroys a whole life, mental and physical. Restitution should include a lifetime of whatever the victim needs to regain a semblance of whole health.

Rape destroys a whole life, mental and physical.

It certainly can, but it doesn’t always, people respond in all kinds of different ways.

You are pretending that any and all sex crime = rape

Someone pinching someone’s ass in the workplace = kidnapping and violently raping someone in a basement every day for six years. It’s all the exact same, right?

Can you please update your medieval fucking judgments already and understand that there are nuances to reality?

Yeah. It’s a proper and good sentence. You people need to chill the fuck out on the “ALL RAPE IS EQUAL AND SHOULD HAVE A MANDATORY DEATH SENTENCE” god damned performative outrage bullshit.

He’s about as royal as you and me. He’s just the child from a former relationship of the woman who then married the ‘real royal’ prince.
