When the church finds out about it and has any choice in the matter, they ship the offending priest to some other church to keep reoffending. In fact we still don’t know the full names of everyone they know about. The only time a priest has been prosecuted is when secular institutions have forced the matter. You know. By arresting them and sending them to trial.
