Tak Kam, 68, was also stabbed but is expected to recover, and police later used lethal force on Cisneros when she charged at them with two knives in her hands
Look, I get that people hate bankers.
But as far as I can tell, everything about this is just media pushing a really dumb narrative.
The lady who stabbed her was not targeting bankers, it was just a crazy person with a knife.
Banks give out VP titles to fucking everybody, this is the rough equivalent of stabbing a General Manager at Costco.

To get around some post 2008 regulation, banks give the title of VP to tons of ppl so they can still sign off on shady shit and comply with the law, while the real rich VPs take no risk.
Any law or regulation needs to be put to a think tank with the specific task of gaming it or finding the loopholes. Then shut that shit down. This type of shoot is predictable and annoying.
This is exactly how the US became a healthcare-tied-to-enployment hellhole
2 or 3 reasons that Banks give out VP titles like candy.

Some regulation after Bush’s recession tried to tie shady shit at banks to VPs, at the time, that would have tied the shady practices to the actual people doing them. Since the actual people in charge wanted to have scapegoats, they just gave the title to everyone.

It makes people feel important, if they can call the bank and get a VP on the line, it makes them feel heard if they can complain to a VP etc.

Its another form of wage reduction, basically they give people the VP title so the people with the title feel like they are going somewhere, but they don’t actually give out raises to go with. It lets them keep people around for a bit longer without giving them any more money.
The last one has kind of stopped working since everybody knows what’s going on, and once you have 5 VPs at one branch, becoming a VP becomes a lot less important, but its part of why the title became so widespread.

I mean, not to be this person but…its not the worst narrative. Theres always another shooting or senseless murder but there’s been like 1 proper assignment of blame and follow thru (Luigi’s case)
Look how companies are kowtowing to the very real threat Trump is to them. Compare that to how they view the public they’re endlessly fucking over and social murdering without consequence or impediment.
Is it really so bad that the headline is factual if provocative/tittilating?
The narrative could be worse, but a “factual” headline can very much be used to drive a fake narrative.
In this case, the headline (while factual) is guiding the reader to think that somebody high up at Bank of America (not some random branch manager) was stabbed because she was a wealthy banker.
Its then pushing the idea that violence against wealthy bankers is terrible because they could be a mother.
Everything about the headline is driving a really bad narrative.
A pretty white woman was murdered, time for a full week of national news about it. That’s tragic for her and her family, but I absolutely don’t need to know about it. From a magazine most well known for ranking the looks of celebrities no less.
But she has a BABY! Surely this is news.
This poor lady and her poor family. No one deserves this.
I can think of some people that, if they got stabbed, I’d be like “yeah that seems fair”
Now her daughter is going to have no mum. I get that people don’t like bankers very much. But it’s the rich we should be stabbing, not middle managers
